There've been times when I haven't had any internet access at home for

There've been times when I haven't had any internet access at home for really long periods of time and I've had to use an internet cafe instead. On hindsight, I wonder how I got through it. I enjoy my own company in the comfort of my own space, but I guess I'm adaptable when I need to be and never truly realise how I'm able to get through a situation 'til months afterwards. One good thing about having to use an internet cafe is that it forces you to use your time well. £1 an hour for internet access might not appear like much, but it can add up. Even if you used the net for an hour a day, we're talking £28-£31 a month which is over double what you'd pay for broadband access from home.
To save myself money, what I used to do was do my research online, save all the info on my memory stick, then go home and do my work. I also used to use my local library as it was free to use the internet there. Unfortunately, their connection was sooooo slow. I was actually surprised by how slow it was, especially as the building itself was very modern. I also couldn't use my memory stick there which was a major disadvantage, so what I used to do was do the research in the library, save all the needed info as a draft in my Yahoo account, go to an internet cafe for half an hour, re-open the draft and download it onto my stick. It got a bit tiring as you can probably imagine. I eventually found a much cheaper internet cafe that charged 50 pence an hour. I have my internet access back at home now. Although I used Internet Explorer for years, I now use Firefox as I much prefer it. Firefox has crashed on me at times, but I'd still choose it over internet explorer any day. I find it more visually appealing, plus I think they have more things in place to protect against spam and viruses whilst you're browsing. I appreciate their constant software updates and find it reassuring. I hardly ever use Internet Explorer these days except when I may be having a problem viewing a site with Firefox - it rarely happens, though.
I need to do some major spring cleaning. I have so many things I wanna get rid of. For e.g., I have two smoothie mixer processors I wanna get rid of. The containers are knackered so I threw them away but I still have the processors. Plus I have a laminator and loads of books and clothes I wouldn't mind saying goodbye to. eBay is the only on-line auction site I'd use. Other on-line auction sites don't quite cut it even if they may have the best team of web developers onboard. With eBay, they've definitely done their homework and are now the no.1 brand on most people's lips when it comes to looking for an on-line auction to buy from or sell on.
I have soooo much stuff that I don't need - that I haven't used in ages. I could do with the money and the freeing up of space in my flat.
