I decided I wanted to have a website. Just a small one, so I could put some pictures up of my crafts, and maybe sell some. I make things out of wood. Things like children's 3D jigsaw puzzles, I carve out all the pieces myself and put the whole thing in some more carved wood, in the shape of an apple for example. I also carve wooden children's clocks, like in the shape of Winnie-the-poo. I sell them at craft fairs, and a lady that visited my stool suggested I start up a website. So here I am, sitting at my ancient desktop computer with the shoddy connection, trying to find good website designers on google. The problem with this, is that the desktop makes it hard to update. If I had a laptop then I could take it with me where ever I went, and add things to the website constantly. This rubbish desktop pc is at least 10 years old. It's really slow. That's another problem -my connection is really dodgy, and everything loads really slowly. I don't know much about the Internet, but I'm hoping that just because I'm starting this website with a slow connection, doesn't mean it will load slowly on other peoples computers! Google isn't being very helpful either. I want to find someone that can design my website for me, because as I say - I don't know much about the Internet. All my search results are turning out links for companies that charge a fortune! I'm sure there must be a way to get a free site. All the teenagers seem to have them, so there must be a free one! I can't see them spending £50 a month on a website. Maybe ill try a different search engine. Does that bring up different results? I'll give up with google and try yahoo instead. I've been trying to do this for hours and I'm not getting any closer. Maybe I should just stick to selling these things at fairs. People probably wouldn't find my website anyway - its not as if I know how to advertise it. What happened to word-of-mouth anyway? That's how I used to get advertised. Yes, I'll reply on that instead. I have a good reputation built up anyway. I'm somewhat of a celebrity at my craft fairs.
